The Supreme Court just changed the rules for every freight broker in America.

In Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, the Court ruled unanimously that freight brokers can be held personally liable under state law for negligent carrier selection. Every carrier you assign, on every load you dispatch, is now a legal decision.

If something goes wrong, you will be expected to prove, in court, that you exercised reasonable care. A carrier lookup is not a legal record. A monitoring alert is not proof of diligence.
